Sambusa Filling: Green Lentils

Ingredients:

  • 3.5 cups Green lentils
  • ½ large Yellow onion
  • 4 Serrano pepper
  • ¼ tsp. Ground Cumin
  • ¼ tsp. Black pepper
  • ¼ tsp. Ginger powder
  • ¼ tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • ⅓ cup oil

Make it:

  1. Boil green lentils
  2. Mince onion and add to a separate pot, let it cook.
  3. Add oil to onions
  4. Dice peppers, and to the onions.
  5. Add garlic powder, ginger powder, ground cumin, and salt to the onions.
  6. Strain the lentils, and then add them to the pot of onions.
  7. Stir thoroughly.

 

Notes: This will be stuffed into tortillas and then fried.
