Cumin Rice
Ingredients
- Basmati Rice – 1 cup
- Water – 2 cups (double the amount of rice)
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Salt – 1 tbsp
- Cilantro to garnish
- Olive oil or Clarified butter (ghee) - 2 tbsp
Steps
- Soak rice in water for 15 minutes. Rinse well.
- In a pot, heat olive oil or clarified butter (ghee), add cumin seeds and salt.
- Add rice and water.
- Cook on high heat until the water starts to boil.
- Cover the pot and simmer the heat. Let it cook for 20 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with Chickpea gravy.
