Madrona Elementary School: 4th & 5th Grade from Oct 16-Dec 11

Join us and Madrona Elementary School students to lead small groups of 4th and 5th grade students in hands-on activities in the class room and the school garden and take a field trip to Green Plate Special. We will focus on fall harvesting and planting and winter in the garden. Projects include seed choices and planting in the pacific NW, composting, snack-making and nutrition, and arts & crafts.

  • Mondays -- 3 bi-weekly sessions (Oct 16 to Nov 13) -- 2 field trip sessions (Dec 4 & 11)

  • 4 sessions at Madrona School with volunteer shifts 11AM-3PM

    • Nov 13

  • 2 single-class field trip session to Green Plate Special with volunteer shifts 8AM-2PM or 9AM-3PM

    • Monday, Dec 4 and Dec 11 (exact times pending)

    • please commit to all sessions or contact us before signing up

*To volunteer for youth programming all volunteers need to have attended a Green Plate Special volunteer training session. If you have not attended a training session and would like to volunteer - please email Claudia at volunteer@greenplatespecial.org for upcoming volunteer training sessions.
