Laura was born in California, where her family grew a native plant garden and many delicious meals were had. In 2013 she received a BA in Cultural and Biological Anthropology with a minor in Environmental Management and Protection from Humboldt State University. Since then she’s been building her experience as an Environmental Educator for various organizations throughout Western Washington and California, supplemented with work in Food Access and Service. She also spent a semester abroad in India and six months in New Zealand, including participating in a WWOOF program and a month-long NOLS backpacking course in Nelson Lakes National Park.

Laura loves to be outside when she can, going on city strolls, running, hiking, and backpacking. In love with music in all its forms, she can be found dancing and singing often. Some of her other passions lie in human connections with the environment, stewardship of our world, and the equity and justice of its inhabitants. Laura is excited about the education programs at Green Plate Special and is always looking forward to meeting folks in the community!
