We sure know that we still get confused about what can or can’t go in the compost or recycling. Now that most of us are sorting our garbage/recycling/compost at home these days, we thought that it would be fun to double check that we’re doing it correctly!

  1. True or False: It’s okay to leave stickers on produce peels when you put them in the compost.
  2. How big does a loose lid have to be in order to recycle it?
  3. True or False: It’s okay to put cardboard containers that have a shiny plastic coating on them in the recycling (like milk containers).
  4. Where should I put plastic utensils and straws?
  5. True or False: It’s okay to put paper towels in the compost.
  6. True or False: Bones from meat products should go in the trash.
  7. If the cardboard container doesn’t have a shiny plastic coating, like a pizza box or egg carton, can I put it in the compost?
  8. True or False: Single plastic bags should go in the garbage.
